Baker Challenge Baker College of Muskegon, Michigan hosts an annual competition for high school students in western Michigan known as the "Baker Challenge" each December. Members are able to compete individually or as teams in events such as "Shark Tank", where members are given materials and required to create a product and present it, and a "Social Media" challenge where members must create an online presence to sell a product. Members that place at this competition receive only bragging rights, as it works as a fun precursor to actual competitions put on by the State and National BPA associations. This challenge provides Ludington students the ability to creatively test their competitive skills before attending Leadership Conferences later in the year.

Sports & Entertainment Conference Every year the Michigan BPA Association puts on a Sports and Entertainment conference for its BPA students, through a partnership with the Pistons. This conference allows students to learn more about sports management, marketing, advertising and public relations while interacting with those in each respective fields. Ludington BPA students are able to attend this conference held in early December annually, as it provides invaluable opportunities to those interested in such areas. Communicating with those that have succeeded in the sports industry allows members to gain insight into what these types of careers entail and what employers look for, as well as what kinds of skills are needed to succeed in each area.
